Brief
FlorMesh Games, an emerging indie studio spearheaded by creators Dorian Florescu and Faran Meshinchi, is set to carve its niche in the video game industry with the upcoming launch of their debut game, "Grapple Tanks." Seeking a distinctive logo to represent their studio, Dorian and Faran envisioned a clean and adaptable design that captures the essence of the gaming industry and is instantly recognizable. With a strong emphasis on multiplayer dynamics and bringing players together, the challenge was to design a logo that not only leaves a lasting impression but also embodies the studios' goal for uniting players.
Solution
Drawing inspiration from renowned game studios, multiple concepts were ideated, leading to the conclusion that a wordmark with a versatile icon would be ideal —functional both as a standalone icon and in conjunction with the studio's name for more formal applications. With the theme being connection, the idea of a chain link emerged. By then taking a knife to the link and making some geometrical adjustments, I was able to incorporate the initials of the studio name into the design.
